This is part 2 of how to draw people sitting. In this guide, the exact same sitting position will be covered, only at completely different angles. Like before, I’ll be focusing on the position characters are in when they sit on a chair, a sofa, a rock or some other object. This is just another extremely practical how-to. Nothing fancy or exciting. Don’t worry, we’ll be covering how to draw pretty much anything we can conceive of, which should keep us busy from now until eternity.

There are two more angles I am going to include for this type of sitting. The first angle will be from a quarter profile and the second angle will be from a frontal view. Since the frontal view will be mostly symmetrical, I will only draw half of it and leave it up to you to figure out the rest.

How to Draw People Sitting: Quarter Profile

Start by drawing a horizontal line that curves outward to the right somewhat.

Continue the line you just drew with a second line that curves the opposite direction and continues the path downwards.

Where you left off, draw a curving line that curves very dramatically downward and travels horizontally.

Draw a line that travels upwards and curves to the right.

Repeat the whole process with everything in reverse. Connect both ends at the bottom.

On the left side of the leg, where you would want the butt to be, draw a line that travels horizontally to the left and curves upwards.

From the line you just drew, draw a large line that travels downwards and curves upwards and to the left. Now you will be forming the other leg.

Draw a line that curves around and starts to travel left.

Draw a line that travels to the left horizontally and curves upwards. The will be the bottom of the other foot.

Draw a line that travels upwards and curves, traveling gradually to the right until you reach the spot where you would like the waist to be.

Next I’ll cover the frontal view. I meant to get that done today, but it needs some editing. I’ll try it next time.
