It will not be often that Alex and I will post off topic subjects considering that Sketching House is an art site, but there’s something I want to share with you, our readers, so I hope you read.

Dog rescues do a lot of great work; I didn’t realize that until the past few weeks came and went. Three weeks ago, Alex and I found a stray Border Collie puppy at one of our local parks. This puppy, Micah as we have come to call him, hadn’t eaten in three days and he was all wet and matted. Furthermore, it has been very cold in our part of the United States, so imagine what this little guy has gone through! Still, little Micah, although frightened at first, was still in fantastic spirits and had an acquired taste for Paki, a Japanese cookie. Alex and I managed to bribe Micah to come to us and when he came to us, he was playful and happy. Alex and I wondered why a sweet dog like him was wandering around lost, so we took him to our local Petsmart because they were accepting stray and adoptable dogs. What do people consider art? When art comes to mind, many people usually just think about stuffy portraits in museums. Remember Cameron from Ferris Bueller? Who can forget that scene when Cameron is staring at Seurat’s “Sunday in the Park on the Island of La Grande Jatte,” and he later tells Ferris that he “saw nothing good?” When art comes to mind, many people have the same response Cameron had: “nothing good.” Well, art isn’t just about stuffy portraits, soup cans, and “Starry, Starry Night(s)” (which just happens to be my most favorite painting EVER), but it’s so much more!
